Jess vs. The Weekday Warrior: A Battle of Grit, Pizza, and Leg Pain

Jess took on the Weekday Warrior Challenge, and let’s just say—she almost conquered it. But if there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that "almost" still counts when you’ve put your heart (and legs) into it!

She started strong, fuelled by excitement and the enthusiastic cheers of her husband. Day Two turned into a fast-paced walk with her aunt and uncle, followed by a well-earned feast of Yellowcab pizza. (Pro tip: Always train with relatives who believe in post-workout rewards.) She may or may not have teased her aunt about her running form resembling a TV fitness class for seniors—purely out of love, of course!

By Day Three, the challenge started to bite back. Leg pain crept in, but her ever-supportive uncle joined her for another walk. Day Four? Slow, steady, and powered by sheer will. Then came the ultimate test—Day Five. Her legs had other plans, forcing her to stop just 2 km short of the finish line. A bummer? Sure. But then her boss swooped in with some wise words, reminding her that what she did accomplish was nothing short of amazing.

After a weekend of rest and a realization (yep, that time of the month had arrived like an uninvited guest), Jess knew she had given it her all. And the best part? She’s not done yet. Next summer in the Philippines, she’s coming back for a rematch—stronger, wiser, and hopefully with even more pizza waiting at the finish line.

We’ll be cheering for you, Jess! 🏆👏
