Weekday Warrior: Tail Wags, Happy Legs, and Unexpected Wins

Some stars shine brighter than others during WeekdayWarrior — and this round, it was Milo 🐶, our four-legged ball of sunshine. With one tail wag and a face full of pure joy, he became our unofficial mascot, cheering us on (and occasionally chasing squirrels mid-run). Honestly, morale’s never been higher.

But this week wasn’t just about the kilometers or the canines — it was about connection. I got to catch up with my former boss (plot twist: we still like each other!), and best of all, I spent real, quality time with my dad. Those moments? They hit differently. As the years fly by, I find myself caring more about the people I’m moving with than how fast I’m going. Encouraging someone I love to lace up, even for a quick stroll, felt like the real win.

Life’s not exactly set up for easy reunions. We’re scattered across cities, calendars, and responsibilities. And that’s what makes WeekdayWarrior feel kind of magical. It’s this built-in excuse to check in, show up, and make a moment together — even if it’s just a few shared steps and a post-run coffee.

Physically, this week also came with a quiet victory. A few years ago, I ruptured my Achilles tendon, and let’s just say the comeback wasn’t glamorous. So every run this week felt like a personal celebration. Even the night I swapped running for biking (shoutout to cross-training!), I counted it as a win. Because sometimes the strongest move is listening to your body.

More than anything, this week reminded me that showing up — even imperfectly — matters. The familiar faces, the laughter, the “wait, we’re doing HOW many kilometers today?” moments… they all added up to something way bigger than a workout.

Here’s to Milo, to movement, and to finding joy in the small stuff. WeekdayWarrior isn’t just about getting faster — it’s about feeling more alive, more connected, and a little more human with every step.
